From the car park located at the end of Pian della Mussa, follow the dirt road that branches off to the left. You will reach a bridge over the Stura; once crossed, turn right going up the course of the stream, then continue along the path that heads northwest towards the Canale delle Capre.

The path climbs steeply along the slope that runs alongside the channel, quickly gaining altitude. After passing a section equipped with fixed ropes, in about 10 minutes you will reach Pian dei Morti, a panoramic plateau located above Pian della Mussa.

Continue diagonally along the path until you reach a large erratic boulder where the signposts are located: ignore the signs for Pian Gias and continue on the left path that climbs the slope in zigzags.

After a short traverse, the path passes below the walls of Rocca Turu, presenting another section equipped with ropes, useful in case of wet rocks, then entering on level ground into the basin of Crot del Ciaussinè where the refuge is located.
