After challenging architectural restoration work, in 2004 the ancient parish complex was given a  new use, which has made it become the centre of cultural life in Usseglio.

Inside the stone walls  there are various buildings including the seat of the museum ‘Arnaldo Tazzetti’, the market porch, the parish house, the chapel of the Brotherhood of the Holy Name of Jesus and the Parish church of the Assunta.

The Parish church has three naves, a bell tower of Romanic origin and a cemetery behind the buildings.

The present aspect of the church dates from interventions in the 18th century when the nave and sacristy were built and the bell tower incorporated.

Value is added to the complex by the presence of a Roman altar of the 2nd century AD, dedicated to Hercules.

It comes from Bellacomba and is built into the facade of the ancient parish church.
