“Going back in time to Nature, Culture and Memories – The Saint Ignatius Sanctuary on the Pilgrim’s footpath.”
The word ‘Pilgrim’ has a broad meaning, sometimes it is used in the sense of “foreigner”, other times in the sense of wayfarer, as one who makes a journey to an unknown place or to a precise destination. Following the ‘Sentiero dei Pellegrini’ of Gisola and Sant’Ignazio, you walk in the tracks followed by the countless faithful who, over the centuries, have come here to honor our Saints: some to venerate the relic consisting of a bone from the head of Saint James, others to fulfill the numerous vows made to Saint Ignatius of Loyola (invoked against wolves, epidemics, famines, etc).
