All the cross-country skiing runs of the area are prepared on Friday night for Saturday skiing and Saturday night for Sunday’s. During festivities they are prepared every night. Possible midweek preparation of the runs may be agreed upon, in case of particular needs. Follow the SP32 paved road up to Usseglio residential area. Once you have reached the village center, park the car in front of Rocciamelone and Grand’Usseglio hotels, near the camper area. The Casa del Fondo is right there and you will find the ticket office, cross-country skiing equipment and snowshoes rental, toilets, dressing room and runs starting point.
The Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Sci Fondo Ussegno, through an agreement with the Town Hall, manages Usseglio runs. These are one way loops, of various difficulties, prepared for both classic and skating techniques. The runs develop approximately for about 11 km, covering all Usseglio plains, from Piazzette hamlet (the first to be met arriving from the valley bottom) to the Crot hamlet, along the “Chiara” stream overlooked by impressive Mount Lera. It is also available cross-country touring skiing, reaching Perinera hamlet residential area.
